Wrap up your Lean Kanban 2015 experience with a chance to practice many of the concepts and ideas discussed in prior conference sessions while having a bit of “FUN”. In this workshop, we will discuss the benefits that can be achieved by using games to teach core lean concepts - participants will gain an understanding of how game play can enable all to understand and experience the benefits of lean techniques regardless of the backgrounds and skillsets of individual players. Workshop participants will then have a chance to work in mixed groups and experience several games designed to allow players to learn and explore core lean principles including: the theory of constraints, the last responsible moment, and how to establish proper WIP limits to promote flow.
Each game presented will be followed by a full-group debrief to establish linkages between the events in the game and core lean principles. Games presented will use a variety of game play elements including cards, dice and LEGO to demonstrate the different mediums available to enable learning of lean principles within a game. A facilitation and debrief guide will be provided to participants for each game presented.
